T-shirt

Amber,

I really like the design. To me 8.50 is totally reasonable if it is a high-quality shirt. I think the last thing we want is to save a few bucks and get a shirt that is so thin you can see garment markings (the shirts from the first Layne Flake Reunion in Germany come to mind!).

Thanks! It is going to be a party.

Our closest little boys.

Cute little kids!

Mother's day pictures of the kids, on the front step right before leaving for church. Can you believe how serious Ryan looks?

This is the graphic I want to put on the family reunion t-shirt. It will be a 2 color screen print (black and yellow), and I think the t-shirt will be heather gray. It would of course say "Flake Family Reunion, Southern Maryland, August 2010," and all the print will be on the front of the shirt. Oliver and I like the sign because it is all over the place over here in Amish country, and the "Share the Road" sort of reminded me of family. So far the best price I have been able to get here is 8.50 per shirt. Jana is going to check out some places over there in Utah to see if we can get it cheaper, but what does everyone think? The price is the same for kid and adult sized shirts. Would you guys all be willing to spend that much on shirts for everyone in your families?

Family Reunion dates finalized

Oliver asked us to blog out the family reunion dates. It is going to stay as it originally was - the weekend of August 20-22.

Allyson Rowe, almost 4 months old

Justin got me flowers for Mother's Day, and we took some pictures of Allyson now that the weather is half way decent although still way too windy. We can't wait to get out of here!! I think 3 1/2 months is my new favorite age. Allyson is still so little but so fun now. Her little personality is starting to come out more and more. I can't wait for all my family on the East coast to meet her. Hopefully it wont be too long until she meets the Original Allyson she was named from. That's so cool that the two Oliver's will be living so close. Hang in there Melissa you're getting closer everyday ;)

The Other Marylanders

To Oliver - I know you live just down the street, but I still prefer to communicate with you via the blog. Lance and Rick keep "taking care of Milky Way." Tonight they were doign something with his fence . . . hope he never escapes 'cause I can't catch him.
Oliver's family already knows this, but Leah is following in someone's footsteps other than mine and seems to love animals. She moos or neighs (sp?) every time she looks out the window and sees Milky Way or any time we pull into Oliver's yard even before she can see the horse. I bought beef today and the thoughts of eating Milky Way sound better and better as I was amazed how expensive it is. Maybe Levin and Oliver aren't crazy afterall.
In other news, baby Oliver is doing well. I had another ultra-sound today because I'm measuring small, but he apparently isn't and he looks healthy and handsome. I've never had an ultra-sound so late in the pregnancy and it was kind of amazing to see him so . . . real.
Leah says Daddy all the time and I'm getting very impatient for him to get here.
Lance has starts a new customer tomorrow, but my house is not yet finished. I do however finally have an oven. So all is well. Now if I could just get Leah to go to sleep like to she did in Lagos . . .

Visit to the Susquahana

Today we visited the place where Oliver was baptized thirty years ago - give or take a day. It was beautiful and brought back wonderful memories. Happy 38th Birthday Oliver!

Our father may have been a deadbeat dad, but to bury him in a box!

Nice job Grant, you couldn’t just stop while it was still funny with the Lenny impersonation.

My uncle is able to keep a zoo-full of animals and my dad can’t keep one stupid rodent alive.

There will be a full investigation into Grant’s unsavory involvement in this murder.

Mom is only fooling herself, we all know she murdered rosy to make the move go smoothly.

This is when you learn if you really believe

No disrespect for the deceased intended , but ---

Those photos are just begging for a list of "top ten best captions".

In memory of Rosy - our first pet

The picture on the bottom is of our hamster, Rosy, on the day we got her. Jaron got her for his birthday last year. Notice he just happened to wear the same shirt on the day of her funeral. It was a good time for her to go considering we are moving in a couple weeks. She was a good hamster. Never bit and loved to be cuddled. She would do the most amazing tricks in her cage every night around bedtime. She would climb and hang by her hands or feet to the bars at the top of her cage and climb around like a monkey.I don't know if other hamsters do this but it seemed really unusual. I wish I had gotten it on camera now that she's gone. She was the perfect first pet for our family.
