Dad finally showed me how to log in and write a blog. I love all the pictures you blog. I feel like they are a little gift to us. Justin - that pumpkin would have won a contest and that picture of the mill should be enlarged and hung on your wall. Wow. The picture of the family would make a great Christmas photo. Amber, your pictures were amazing - Hannah is cute beyond belief - the costumes, deer - etc. We loved the dvd you gave us. What a great legacy for your children to watch of their childhood. I am sure JaLayne is loving California right now as Taylor and family huddle in one room with a space heater. We are thrilled for Allyson and Moema getting into Notre Dame. Those pictures of your children are precious with that little Kyla learning how to walk I can't believe little Oliver just learned to walk and now goes down slippery slides. Levin - how was conducting in church yesterday and your talk. The strange places our children serve in the church - India, Russia, Danville--. Lincoln - your pictures are wonderful. We hope all is well with your family. I am truly impressed with the halloween costumes. It certainly puts me to shame - we would just throw things together at the last minute. Joely's cowboy costume was terrific. This is a busy week for counseling. The holidays must be a hard time for young missionaries. Thank you all so much for posting the pictures. You wouldn't believe how much we look at them. I am so proud of you all and love you so much, Mom

We took a nice Sunday drive today through the Blue Ridge Parkway

I LOVED all the pictures of Hannah, and fun Halloween Costumes. And the deer head will make a perfect Halloween decoration tomorrow. Thanks for posting, Melissa. We love it! And Ally! And Lincoln's posts. Now we just need to see some pictures from California, and Taylor's family.

Oliver

back in his mission area

At the Embassy in Brasilia

With our friend, whose name I cannot remember at this moment... he is the guy who had the horses that we would ride sometimes. It was these two that found Oliver when he got bucked off the devil horse Trotsky, and was bleeding in the middle of the road. They called the ambulance, and may have saved his life.

This is the little supermarket near our house in Brasilia that we would shop at all the time.

Natalya and Oliver's little "ditch-day" adventure, riding horses at a nearby state park.
Oliver and his wing-man, Jared. Jared has a great eye for finding the deer, and Oliver has a good eye for killing them.
Isn't this sick?

Oliver is the monster on the back right. He hated his costume until he realized that it got him candy. No, the baby tiger in the Bimbo is not dead.

Leah was a monkey, the same as last year. I don't want to brag, but my kids got lots of compliments on their cute costumes. She was so sweet and would tell everyone Trick or Treet and Happy Halloween! Here she is with Bruce - sorry Calvin, but he has moved in as Leah's best friend.

We had our friends the Petersons come to the Embassy to go trick or treating with us. It was a little chaotic. You walk up stairs into a doorway and there are four apartments doors. You had to look for the special sign to know if they were participating or not. When we first started older kids were running to all the doors and pushing and each quad entry-way was so crazy. On the other half of the compound you walk in the entryway and then two of the doors you have to go up 18 stairs to get to their front door. Thank goodness we don't live in one of those! Anyway, we just decided to skip all those doors. The kids still raked in the candy. Next year we will wait a half hour after it starts and the old kids have raced through and then we'll go and not get stampeded.

Leah with the slime they made at story time and Levin's finished product.

Oliver is the opposite of Leah. Leah is smiling and you try to take her picture and you end up with the weirdest faces, looking away, etc. So hard! Oliver has lately started throwing little fits or if you tell him no, he just throws himself down in despair. I was trying to take a picture of his little fit and he busted out a smile as soon as I held up the camera. I put it away and he burst into tears again - you bring it back, and there is your happy boy again. I guess we need to do a reality TV show and I'd have the happiest boy in all the land.

Leah and her potty training buddy "Dolly"

Leah on the playground (fully clothed - sorry for the previous picture) and Levin carving our pumpkins with our neighbor and his admin assistant at work - Karen.
I have to say Levin is a really good boss to her. We take her shopping with us anytime we drive to the big wal-mart type store and we are taking her to the Marine Ball with us. Actually we should be thanking her - 5 babysitter options all fell through and she provided us with the one we're using.

Levin was looking for a picture of himself and we have so few because he always demands I be in the picture. But notice - I am not in any of the pictures.

We went Trick or treating at a local strip mall, my friends let me borrow these costumes.
